The tee also featured a drawing of Emory with his mouth being covered by a hand clad in the stars and stripes.
West wore the shirt while on a date with his new girlfriend, 24-year-old model Juliana Nalú, on Saturday.
Tensions between Emory and West began after the latter’s Yeezy Season 9 fashion show earlier this month, during which he courted controversy by sending “White Lives Matter” T-shirts down his runway.
Amid the backlash, West appeared accuse LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault of “killing his best friend,” late Louis Vuitton menswear designer Virgil Abloh, who died in November at age 41 following a battle with cancer.
After screengrabbing and sharing West’s post, Emory slammed the Yeezy designer for dragging Abloh’s name into his “victim campaign,” writing, “You knew Virgil had terminal cancer and you rode on him in group chats, at yeezy, interviews…YOU ARE SO BROKEN. KEEP VIRGIL NAME OUT YOUR MOUTH.”
Emory also accused West of badmouthing Abloh’s designs in front of his Yeezy team, and called him an “insecure narcissist that’s dying for validation from the fashion world.” He also defended Vogue editor and stylist Gabriella Karefa-Johnson, whom West ridiculed on social media after she criticized his collection.
Several days later, West took aim at Emory in a (since-deleted) Instagram post, writing, “Tremaine’s new name as the BLM officer at Supreme is Tremendez … You only got the job since you were black and you used to work for me and you knew Virgil Abloh.”
On October 7, West shared an “abbreviated” version of a conversation with Emory via a series of screenshots on his Instagram account.
In the exchange, the rapper alleged he didn’t know about Abloh’s cancer diagnosis, writing, “Virgil never said anything to me himself.”
He also wrote that he was “jealous of Virgil” and “felt betrayed by and lied to by Virgil,” but still loves and misses the Off-White designer.
